Nervous System
The nervous system is composed of nerve tissue in the body and associated support elements. From a structural perspective or anatomy, the nervous system is divided into two, the Central Nervous System (CNS) and the peripheral nervous system (PNS).The CNS consists of the brain and spinal cord, while the PNS includes nerves, glands and specialized receptors. On the other hand, from the standpoint of functional nervous system is divided in Somatic Nervous System and the Autonomic Nervous System . Somatic system is the part of the nervous system that respond or relate to the body external environment, however the system is autonomous in relation to the internal organic performing control functions and internal adaptation. Both systems do not act independently but are interrelated and cooperate. nervous system function is to receive stimuli that come from both the external and internal environment of the organism, organize this information and make appropriate response occurs. The stimuli from the external environment are received by receptors located in the skin, intended to capture general feelings such as pain, touch, pressure and temperature, and receptors that capture special feelings as taste, sight, smell, ear, the position and movement. signals (or pulses) arriving at the peripheral nervous system, are transmitted from these central nervous system receptors, where information is recorded and processed accordingly. Once registered and processed, the signals are sent from the central nervous system to various organs to provide appropriate responses.
