Participation at the European Congress of Psychology (Stockholm)

Of 9 to 12 July 2013 was held in Stockholm the 13th European Congress of Psychology held.A total of about 3,000 participants from around the world presented their latest research findings to the interested audience. In particular, studies on risk perception, crime and fear and to crisis and disaster management provided interesting insights into the work of the Research Forum Public Safety. It was also devoted to a focus issue of the transfer of scientific knowledge to policy-makers.

Dr. Lars Gerhold represented the Research Forum and took over the Chair of the session "Economic and Social Transition". As part of this a total of four speakers dedicated from Lithuania, Russia, Nigeria and Germany questions of social change. In particular, issues of acceptance of societal changes and the impact on quality of life given the session. These thematic facets - especially against the background of the continuum safety and freedom spread to the lecture "Security Culture 2025" by Lars Gerhold, in which the results of the same scenario process of Research Forum were presented. Many questions and comments to lecture devoted to the consideration of a new culture of uncertainty, the scenario process itself as well as the transfer of knowledge of outcomes in the political arena. In particular, the future orientation of the contribution was highlighted positive.
